How many sessions do I need?

Reiki healing is an energy treatment that offers many benefits for your body, mind, emotions, and soul. But how many sessions do you need to feel these incredible benefits?

The truth is that every person is unique, and your healing process will be too. That said, there are general recommendations from the Grand Masters of Reiki Usui Shiki Ryoho. I have also been supporting people with Reiki for years, and after working with more than 130 people, I have been able to observe certain patterns that allow me to give you recommendations with full confidence.

General recommendation​

It is generally recommended to receive 4 or 5 consecutive sessions, as close together as possible — ideally 4 sessions over 4 days. This way, the energy has the best conditions to work with the relevant imbalances.

Receiving 4 or 5 healings in a row is truly felt and creates a deep momentum in the right direction.

If that’s not possible for you, you can do 4 or 5 sessions within a maximum of two weeks.

Reiki for challenging moments

If you’re going through a challenging time in your life, I recommend taking 10 sessions or more to begin a deeper and longer-lasting healing process.

Reiki healing is not a quick fix, and returning to balance when we have several issues or symptoms — whether physical and/or emotional — requires multiple sessions in my experience.

I have been working with Reiki for years and I have never met anyone who regretted having 10 or more Reiki sessions.

We’re used to everything being fast in life, and sometimes healing is too — but other times it requires more sessions to truly feel well again.

I can assure you that if you decide to have more than 8–10 sessions, you will notice positive changes you didn’t even know you needed.

Reiki as a lifestyle and self-care practice

You can receive Reiki for the rest of your life, if you’d like.

After completing a cycle of sessions — whether 4, 10, or more — you can continue with a kind of “maintenance” or self-care with 1 or 2 sessions per week or month, or simply come back whenever you feel the need.

Some people use it as self-care or preventive health, making it part of their lifestyle and receiving one or two sessions each month.

Sometimes changes are noticeable from the very first session. Other times, it takes several sessions to notice progress. There are usually significant shifts from one session to the next.

Reiki healing is a process…

A personal process that reveals itself along the way — and you decide how much you want to heal. We never truly finish. Reiki is always there for whenever you feel the need and the motivation to receive it.

Reiki always works for your highest good, and every session plays an important role.

These are my recommendations, based on my experience and what the Grand Masters of Reiki teach. We will never know exactly how many sessions you’ll need to feel improvement in your current state — until you start receiving Reiki.
